Our Art Adventurers came up with some silly and interesting illustrations last week! After cutting out different shapes from our textures, we collaged to share a scene and tell a story. What great storytellers and a great way to end our Fall Semester!
For Part Trois in our Value Study Series, our guest artist, Mr. Banks, returned to continue our study on value & gradation… but this time with color! Last week our Art Adventurers took inspiration from the work of Eric Carle, painting with everything but a paintbrush! Using rollers, scrapers, stamps, sponges, and even toy race cars, we dipped our crazy tools in warm and cool colors to create textures! At the Metropolitan Museum of Art! Our little Artists are taking an adventure with CCA this week to explore the modern wing at the Met. Jackson Pollock, Barnett Newman and Alexander Calder are just a few artists we will be exploring and taking inspiration from to create our own versions right at the museum!
Happy New Year! We welcome 2017 with some mobile fun! Taking inspiration from Kandinsky’s work with color, our Art Adventurers explored color theory and balance. We overlapped opaque and translucent colors, shapes, and sizes to create different patterns and balance in our mobiles.
